Laminate Tops

NOVA Kitchen & Bath has been fabricating laminate countertops since our beginning in 1978.  In addition to building and laminating custom tops, we also purchase pre-formed countertop blanks from Hartson-Kennedy, which was established in 1948 and has grown to be one of the largest countertop manufacturers in the world.  We then take these blanks and cut them to the size and shape your design requires right here in our Top Shop.  With laminate countertops, the color palette is vast featuring laminates from Wilsonart, Formica, Nevamar and Pionite.

High pressure decorative laminate (HPDL) is made by saturating sheets of decorative and core paper with resins, then pressing them under high heat, fusing the layers into a single sheet. A sheet of laminate is actually only 18% plastic resin.  The rest is paper! The result is a hard, durable material that is water resistant, easy to clean, non-porous, warm, and inexpensive. To make a fully prefabricated countertop, the laminate is bonded to a substrate with a molded edge and backsplash.
